For KTM, the Freeride E-XC is a bike in its own category. It comes equipped with full-size 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels but is slightly downsized, similar to a Yamaha TT-R230 or Honda CRF250F.

The ergonomics of the Freeride E-XC are comfortable, this can be attributed to its Neken full-width handlebar and skinny half-waffle ODI grips that open up the cockpit for tall riders and its seat height of 35.8 inches, which is slightly lower than a full-size KTM model. Its narrow chassis also helps shorter riders feel comfortable and gives them the ability to touch the ground more easily.

It comes equipped with a WP Xplor 43mm fork that offers compression and rebound damping adjustment as well as 9.8 inches of travel. The WP Xplor PDS shock features low- and high-speed compression damping tunability along with a rebound adjuster. Travel is 10.2 inches.

Formula brakes are the same as the 85 SX’s with a 260mm front rotor and 230mm rear rotor. The rear brake lever is mounted on the left side of the handlebar in lieu of a clutch lever. Tires are supplied by Maxxis and feature the high-traction gummy compound with a trials tread.
